Fire Safety Work Continues

Beginning today, Tuesday May 30th, crews from the Utah State Department of Natural Resources, Forestry Fire & State Lands – the Alta Hot Shots – are working along Spring Creek between Ecker Hill Park and Big Spruce Way. Please note, the creek trail is closed.

Forestry crews will begin thinning and piling in the Pinebrook openspace above the Spring Creek Trailhead, and above and along Pinebrook Rd and Canyon Drive Ct. in what we are calling Unit 5. Please be aware that Meeks, Lower Meeks, Upper Meeks, and iDare trails may be impacted by this work. Controlled Pile Burning Continues

After a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and with burning conditions appropriate, PMA controlled pile burning continues in the open space along Spring Trail and Two Mile Creek today, Nov. 28.

Controlled Pile Burning Update

Saturday, Nov 12th — During the week of Nov 6th, about 2/3 of piles in Pinebrook were burned across the three work areas that comprise a little over 11 acres. While the snow was welcomed, it slowed efforts to burn all the piles. Our forestry experts are monitoring the weather and coordinating with the State of Utah for authorization to finish the work.  Burning could commence again during the week of Nov 13th
